About The Position

We are proactively seeking a standout professional for whom we will finalize a formal role. Amentum is seeking a AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System Technician to support efforts in Newport News, VA. This is a full-time position and will allow you to continue providing hands-on support to some of the most sophisticated equipment the navy has.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
  • High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and three (3) years experience. (Degree/Formal Training is defined as: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.)
  • Ability to pass Submarine Embarkation Medical screening.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with test and evaluation; perform validations/verifications of AN/BYG-1 systems
  • Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI)
  • Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
  • Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
  • Interface directly with the on-site customer for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
  • Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts
