About The Position

Seeking a Submarine Technician (FT, ST, ET, IT) to join the Portsmouth, New Hampshire team. This role involves providing technical evaluation, performing installation, testing, and certification of AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) and AN/BPS (15,16,17) (RADAR) systems in accordance with NAVSEA installation procedures, onboard all classes of submarines. The technician will also assist DoD personnel with required corrective actions for these systems according to DoD and Navy Maintenance Procedures, and support various engineering tasks related to the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of systems in line with engineering specifications.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and three (3) years experience.
  • Degree/Formal Training is defined as: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.
  • Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of Submarine C5I systems/equipment.
  • Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
  • Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess knowledge and experience across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
  • Experience with network configuration and BYG-1 combat control systems

Responsibilities

  • Install, monitor, and service ISIS and RADAR equipment and systems at various Naval locations
  • Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems
  • Review change proposals for equipment impacts
  • Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions
  • Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
  • Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory
  • Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications
  • Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures.
  • Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
