About The Position

Medici Road is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA member to build a homeownership accelerator program for income-eligible residents in Washington, DC. This program, 'My Keys. Rent No More. Homeownership Accelerator,' aims to guide residents (30-80% AMI) through financial readiness education to homeownership closing, including down payment assistance. The VISTA member will map the local homeownership ecosystem, establish partnerships, design a Tier 1 homeownership readiness curriculum (covering credit building, savings, DC assistance programs, and the mortgage process), and build a participant data tracking system. The role also involves coordinating and co-facilitating the first cohort of 25-30 participants, evaluating outcomes, and creating a program operations manual for Medici Road's future use. This is a capacity-building role focused on creating sustainable infrastructure, including partnerships, curriculum, data systems, and documentation.

Requirements

U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
At least 18 years old at the start of service
Available for a full-time, one-year term of service in Washington, DC
Able to pass a National Service Criminal History Check
Strong interest in housing, community economic development, or financial capability work
Comfort building systems from scratch—curriculum, data trackers, partner protocols—with limited existing infrastructure
Strong written communication skills for producing curriculum materials, reports, and partner-facing documents
Comfort working with data tools (Airtable, Excel, or similar) to track and report on outcomes
Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with residents, nonprofit partners, and lenders alike
