About The Position

The job of AmeriCorp coordinator is done for the purpose of ensuring the success of NEWESD 101 programs by managing and mentoring AmeriCorps members and providing meaningful and impactful experiences. It is anticipated that the salary will increase by 2.6% effective September 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • Job-related experience with increasing levels of experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clearances WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance (at employee’s expense).
  • Clear driver abstract for the last five years.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in first aid/CPR.
  • Obtain and maintain Pearson Vue GED proctor certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of successful experience working with youth/young adults in alternative/ at-risk programs within scope of work
  • Experience with GED preparation is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, trains, and mentors AmeriCorps members serving within the YouthBuild program for the purpose of delivering services in compliance with NEWESD, state, federal guidelines, and grant requirements.
  • Conducts orientation and ongoing training for the purpose of ensuring members understand their roles, responsibilities, and program expectations.
  • Provides consistent supervision, coaching, and professional development for the purpose of supporting AmeriCorps members in their service duties.
  • Monitors and evaluates member performance for the purpose of ensuring compliance with AmeriCorps policies and program guidelines.
  • Facilitates regular check-ins, team meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessions with members for the purpose of supporting them in addressing challenges, improving engagement, and meeting service goals.
  • Tracks member progress, service hours, and required documentation for the purpose of complying with AmeriCorps requirements.
  • Works collaboratively with YouthBuild and AmeriCorp program staff, instructors, committees, and advisory groups for the purpose of integrating AmeriCorps members into program activities and service projects and meeting programs objectives.
  • Fosters a strong culture of civic engagement, leadership development, and teamwork among members.
  • Schedules and facilitates monthly service projects in collaboration with other team members.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders for the purpose of enhancing member experiences and service opportunities.
  • Ensures adherence to AmeriCorps grant requirements, policies, and reporting obligations (e.g. enrolls a total of 50 AmeriCorp members, conducts three service project days, submits success stories, etc.).
  • Assists with conflict resolution and member disciplinary actions as necessary for the purpose of maintaining a healthy climate and culture.
  • Provides recognition, support, and incentives for the purpose of promoting member retention.
  • Participates and represents NEWESD 101 in a variety of meetings and travels both locally and statewide (e.g. conferences, meetings, training) for the purpose of gathering and conveying information.
  • Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. case notes, statistical reports, pre/post follow-up, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information.
  • Enters data into both written and electronic systems for the purpose of tracking outcomes and progress toward goals.
  • Transports members/students in NEWESD 101 vehicles as needed for the purpose of supporting program activities and service learning events.
  • Reports immediately to agency supervisor or assistant superintendent any incident that poses a threat to the safety, security, or integrity of youth, staff, or partner and follows up with a written incident report for the purpose of maintaining a safe and secure environment.
