About The Position

The Ambulatory Care Assistant (ACA) maintains a professional environment and supports collaborative relationships with patients, physicians, referring physicians, and licensed and non-licensed clinic staff. The role helps ensure smooth patient access and flow through non-clinical tasks, including scheduling follow-up visits, imaging, and lab work; preparing chart elements; escorting patients to rooms; and collecting vital signs and patient information. The ACA may perform blood draws with phlebotomy certification and assists physicians with non-sterile tasks, such as removing bandages and collecting samples. The position also stocks and organizes exam rooms, helps manage medical supplies, handles pre-authorizations, and serves as a liaison between providers and patients. In collaboration with clinical staff, the ACA ensures records are received and required testing is completed before appointments or surgery, and updates clinic staff and patients on timing to support patient flow. Other duties may be assigned.
