Requirements

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for welding and inspection.
  • Understanding of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, grinders, and measuring devices
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding defects and equipment issues
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good time management and ability to meet production deadlines
  • Ability to read and interpret data and blueprints
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, blueprints, and written directions (Work Orders)
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to work in various welding positions for extended periods.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or welding certification preferred but not required.
  • 2–3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and other welding processes on Aluminum, and other metal components with flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
  • Fit, tack, and weld components as needed for the manufacturing of truck and trailer bodies.
  • Ensure welds meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for accuracy, defects, and compliance; make repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report equipment issues.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
