About The Position

The Certified Trainer and Content Developer is a member of the Altium Training team responsible for delivering high-quality training on Altium Designer and related solutions. The role combines certified instructor-led training delivery with participation in training content development, review, and ongoing maintenance across instructor-led and on-demand formats. It is intended for an experienced PCB design professional with strong hands-on Altium Designer experience who can deliver technical training to professional engineering audiences. The position supports customer adoption and best-practice usage through professional, technically accurate, engaging training aligned with approved course content and learning objectives.

The role delivers certified instructor-led training across the Altium training portfolio, online and onsite, and maintains certification across all instructor-led courses before independent delivery. It demonstrates Altium Designer workflows and features using practical experience, adapts to customer experience levels while maintaining consistency, and represents Altium professionally. The trainer maintains strong Altium Designer proficiency, applies PCB and system design experience to training, and stays current with relevant product updates.

The position also contributes to the development, review, and maintenance of instructor-led and on-demand content; assists with storyboards and scripts; captures training video and audio when needed; checks materials and assets for technical accuracy; and updates content for new releases and evolving best practices. It works with internal training and content teams and participates in reviews, pilots, and continuous improvement.

The position requires three days per week in the La Jolla, California office, with travel for onsite customer training as needed, including potential travel outside the United States. When not traveling, time is split between online training delivery and content development. U.S. citizenship is required due to potential training delivery on military bases.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, due to potential training delivery on military bases.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Five or more years of hands-on experience using Altium Designer in professional environments.
• Five or more years of PCB and system-level design experience.
• Strong verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to engineering audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel as required for onsite customer training, including travel outside the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience delivering technical training, both onsite and online.
• Experience supporting instructional content development or review.
• Familiarity with video capture tools such as Camtasia.
• Experience using AI-based tools for voiceover or media production.
• Exposure to structured instructional or technical documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of instructor-led and on-demand training content.
• Assist with creating and reviewing on-demand training storyboards and scripts, including voiceover scripts.
• Capture training videos and audio recordings when required, following defined standards.
• Review training materials, recorded videos, and supporting assets for technical accuracy.
• Update existing content to align with new releases, platform changes, and evolving best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams involved in training delivery and content development.
• Communicate content readiness, preparation status, and assigned tasks clearly.
• Participate in reviews, pilots, and continuous improvement activities related to training quality.
