About The Position

The Alterations Associate supports the daily operations of a Bloomingdale’s store by sewing garments and performing basic to advanced alterations, including work on sleeves, backs, sides, collars, and bodices. The role also includes minor repairs and replacing buttons. The associate helps create an easy and enjoyable customer experience by providing information about alteration services and delivering quality work on time and to customer specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of direct experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; the role may also involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision, and climbing ladders.
Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld electronic equipment.
