About The Position

Join the Country Health Connect Physiotherapy team as an Allied Health Assistant and play an important role in supporting the delivery of allied health services to patients and clients across the Limestone Coast. Working under the supervision of Allied Health Professionals, you will assist with specialised clinical screenings and treatments, monitor patient responses to therapy, support patient preparation and movement, and provide education as directed. You may also assist with therapy-related documentation, clinical equipment and group-based interventions. The role will likely include working in a range of clinical areas including Inpatient Rehabilitation, Outpatient care including group classes, Aged Care, Community input, and Acute Inpatient care. This means that whilst being line managed by Physiotherapy, this role will likely involve working among multiple allied health disciplines as required. This is a rewarding opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced health professionals while supporting patients with diverse and complex care needs to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes.

Requirements

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds as well as the ability to work with patients demonstrating complex care needs.
  • Be able to work under general direction, and direct or remote supervision from Allied Health Professionals.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to adapt to changing workplace needs.
  • Bring experience working in a health service environment, with knowledge of patient confidentiality, ethical practice and the role of Allied Health Assistants within a healthcare setting.
  • A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment in positions involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required.
  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A
  • SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy
