About The Position

The Aisles Online Pickup Clerk supports Hy-Vee’s online grocery service by accurately gathering customer orders, storing them at the proper temperature, and preparing them for pickup. The role includes retrieving orders before customers arrive, placing orders in the pickup holding area, and loading groceries into customers’ vehicles to provide a fast and friendly experience. The position involves customer service, selecting and bagging items from different temperature zones, processing payments, handling substitutions, and responding to customer calls and emails. Clerks work in a fast-paced retail environment with frequent deadlines and multiple tasks, and may take on other tasks or special projects as needed. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning or sanitation duties.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required for employment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their needs throughout the store.
Gather online orders and store them at the proper temperature; retrieve them promptly before customer arrival.
Maintain proper product temperatures throughout the fulfillment process.
Cart orders to the holding area for customer pickup.
Lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicles.
Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones as needed.
Tender customer orders through the POS and process credit card payments.
Substitute products at customer request or when items are unavailable.
Answer phones and emails promptly and provide friendly, helpful service.
Follow Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and department and company guidelines.
Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed.
