About The Position

The Aisles Online Pickup Clerk supports Hy-Vee’s online grocery service by gathering and storing orders accurately, maintaining products at the proper temperatures, and preparing orders for customer pickup. The role helps provide a fast, friendly pickup experience by retrieving orders promptly, bringing them to the holding area, and loading groceries into customers’ vehicles. The clerk also assists customers in the store, selects and scans items across temperature zones, bags products, processes orders and credit card payments through the POS, and makes substitutions when requested or when products are unavailable. The position involves answering customer calls and emails, following company and department standards, and assisting with other tasks as needed. It is a fast-paced retail role requiring attention to detail, organization, customer service, and the ability to work independently.

Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required for employment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their needs throughout the store.
Gather online orders and store them at the proper temperature.
Retrieve orders promptly before customers arrive and maintain proper product temperatures throughout fulfillment.
Cart orders to the holding area for customer pickup.
Lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicles.
Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones as needed.
Tender customer orders through the POS and process credit card payments.
Substitute products upon customer request or when items are unavailable.
Answer phones and emails promptly and provide friendly, helpful customer service.
Follow Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and department and company guidelines.
Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed.
