About The Position

The Aisles Online Pickup Clerk supports Hy-Vee’s online grocery program by accurately gathering customer orders, storing them at the proper temperature, and preparing them for pickup. The role includes retrieving orders before customers arrive, placing them in the pickup holding area, and loading groceries into customer vehicles to provide a fast, friendly experience. The clerk provides customer service throughout the store and through phone and email, selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones, processes orders and credit card payments through POS, and makes product substitutions when requested or when items are unavailable. The role requires staying organized and productive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven retail environment while following company dress, hygiene, safety, and department guidelines. Employees may also assist with other tasks or special projects. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their needs throughout the store.
Gather customer orders and store them at the proper temperature, then retrieve them promptly before customer arrival.
Ensure products maintain proper temperature throughout the fulfillment process.
Cart orders to and place them in the holding area for customer pickup.
Lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicles.
Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones as needed.
Tender customer orders through POS and process credit card payments.
Substitute products upon customer request or when items are unavailable.
Answer phones and emails promptly and provide friendly, helpful service.
Follow Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and department and company guidelines.
Assist with other tasks or special projects as needed.
