About The Position

Performs highly skilled, journeyman-level plumbing work involving the transportation, installation, and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems, along with related work as required. When not engaged in plumbing work, employees perform light and heavy maintenance responsibilities and other assigned tasks. Employees must maintain all required licenses, permits, certificates, and auto liability insurance eligibility throughout their employment. The position requires a one-year probationary period and a background check required under federal regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency diploma.
• Current Louisiana State Journeyman Plumber's license.
• Three years of full-time paid experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial plumbing fixtures and accessories, such as chair carriers, flushometers, commercial water heaters, and backflow prevention devices.
• Ability to lift, transport, and operate large drain augers and related equipment.
• Pass the required personal, criminal, and employment background check.
• Maintain all required licenses, permits, certificates, and auto liability insurance eligibility during employment.
• New full-time employees hired on or after January 1, 2013, must generally be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire; exceptions apply, including for certain airport employees.

Nice To Haves

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing sensor-operated valves, fixtures, devices, and control circuits.
