About The Position

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government airport location in Kahului, Hawaii, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for travelers, visitors, and staff. You will provide customer service, communicate clearly, and use computer or tablet tools as needed. The position is part-time, scheduled Thursday and Sunday from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, and pays $26.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Read, write, and speak English fluently.
Pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
Pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only; the posting also lists a valid driver's license with one or more years of experience.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, airport personnel, and other stakeholders while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport terminals, public areas, parking facilities, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to identify unusual activity and potential security concerns.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established airport and site procedures.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity, and support compliance with applicable site rules and regulations.
Accurately and promptly document observations, incidents, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, emergency responders, and authorized personnel.
