About The Position

As an unarmed patrol officer at a government airport location in Kahului, Hawaii, you will help safeguard the airport, its visitors, and personnel. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible security presence, provide customer service, respond to security-related concerns, and use computer or tablet tools as needed. The position is part-time and scheduled Tuesdays and Sundays from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Pay is $26.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a valid driver's license; the posting specifies at least one year.
Read, write, and speak English fluently.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Pass a background check, including the background check required by the DOT Pass and ID office.
Pass a physical and drug screening.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only; licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, tenants, and airport personnel while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, public access areas, parking facilities, perimeter locations, and other assigned airport property.
Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, and policy violations; report observations using established communication and documentation procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, medical events, and other critical situations, coordinating with airport personnel and public agencies as directed.
Maintain a professional presence to deter unauthorized activity and provide clear directions and assistance in a fast-paced transportation environment.
