About The Position

As an Airport Security Officer in Lihue, Hawaii, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government airport location. This unarmed role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and providing courteous assistance to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport partners. You will communicate professionally, report observations, and help maintain a welcoming environment while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. This is a part-time position scheduled Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $26.50 per hour. Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
Must possess a valid driver's license; the posting lists this as a requirement and notes that a license is required for driving positions only.
Must be able to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening, including a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must comply with any applicable state or local licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport partners while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned airport areas, terminal spaces, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter locations, and report unusual conditions or concerns.
Monitor access points and support controlled entry procedures in accordance with airport rules and applicable site requirements.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
