About The Position

This is an entry-level Airport Agent position at Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport, combining both Ramp and Customer Service duties. The role involves providing outstanding customer service to passengers, including greeting them, assisting with check-in and ticketing, rebooking itineraries, and issuing boarding passes using reservation/ticketing software. Additionally, agents will handle ramp operations such as loading, unloading, and sorting freight, mail, and baggage safely to ensure on-time departures and arrivals. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and involves physical activity like lifting luggage. Shifts may vary and include irregular/extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Must be able to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags weighing up to 75 pounds
• Possess a valid, unexpired and unsuspended state driver’s license; some license restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered for this role
• 18 years or older
• High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Authorized to work in U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Greet passengers and provide a seamless check-in and ticketing experience
• Utilize reservation/ticketing software to rebook itineraries and issue boarding passes
• Interact with customers in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner
• Lift customers’ bags onto the belt
• Load, unload and sort freight, mail and baggage in a safe manner
• Achieve on-time departures and arrivals
• Lift luggage throughout the shift
• Cruise on the tarmac in company vehicles while getting the bags to their destination
• Work outside in all weather conditions
