Airfield Engineer
About The Position
RS&H is passionate about aviation and is seeking an Airfield Civil Engineer I to join their Aviation Practice in Vienna, VA. The role involves designing and managing a wide variety of civil projects at airports, with a focus on innovative design, technical excellence, and project completion within budget and schedule. The position offers opportunities for career advancement as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, or engineering support, depending on experience. Responsibilities include leading project development, maintaining client contact, and assisting in business development. Specific activities include geometric design of runways, taxiways, and aprons; pavement design (bituminous and concrete); stormwater and utility infrastructure design; coordination with airports, airlines, FAA, and other tenants; and construction administration/management. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute ideas to better serve airport clients.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent disciplines from an accredited ABET university
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
- At least two years of airport design experience
- Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain PE License within 6 months
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
