About The Position
RS&H seeks a rising aviation professional to join our Atlanta team as an Airfield Engineer. This is your opportunity to take the next step in your career – leading project teams, developing client relationships, and shaping aviation infrastructure while building toward ownership in a nationally-recognized firm. The role involves leading project delivery from concept through construction, including airfield design, pavement, utilities, terminals, and infrastructure. It also includes overseeing design teams, managing quality assurance, tracking financial performance, and coordinating with airports, airlines, FAA, and stakeholders. Additionally, the position focuses on developing leadership skills through mentoring junior engineers, applying technical expertise to solve complex design challenges, making independent decisions on aviation design matters, and building confidence in leading projects of varying scope and complexity. Business development and client relationship management are also key aspects, including contributing to proposals, strategic initiatives, strengthening client loyalty, and representing RS&H at regional industry events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program
- 5+ years of civil design experience, with 2+ years in aviation
- PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Strong technical knowledge of aviation design fundamentals
- Experience with aviation plans and technical specifications
- Proven ability to lead small to moderate-sized projects
- Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
- Lead Project Delivery
- Support project execution from concept through construction – airfield design, pavement, utilities, terminals, and infrastructure
- Oversee design teams, manage quality assurance, and track financial performance

- Prepare project plans, specifications, and technical reports
