About The Position

This position involves performing scheduled and unscheduled O-Level maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft egress, environmental, and related systems. The role requires performing flight line essential services daily as directed by the flight schedule. Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required, and ordnance loading will necessitate team lifts of up to 167 pounds per team member. The technician will have the authority to direct Level I work center personnel for specific maintenance actions, providing guidance and technical expertise. They will also receive technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians and may occasionally lead teams through complex aircraft tasks.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years US Navy/USMC/USCG O-Level CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) aircraft maintenance support experience.
  • Minimum 3 years T/M/S aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.
  • Aviation Ordnance candidates experience shall be minimum five years O-Level experience.
  • T/M/S aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain, with the last two years.
  • Experience as T/M/S CDI or CDQAR is required.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced electronic principles and circuit analysis.
  • Ability to trace signal flow, understand interrelationships of circuits, interpret waveforms and voltages.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft communications/navigation and instrument systems.
  • Ability to interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings and charts of assigned systems.
  • Excellent soldering and harness/wiring skills, PC board, surface mount and crimping experience.
  • Working knowledge of all standard test equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Working knowledge of technical orders and maintenance forms.

Responsibilities

  • Performs operational checks, bench checks, troubleshoots, and isolates malfunctions in complex aircraft avionics equipment such as AN/APY-9 Radar system, various radios UHF/VHF, Intercommunication System (ICS), radar altimeter, IFF, and Link 16 systems.
  • Uses complex test equipment including continuous wave and pulse generators, time domain reflectometers, multi-trace oscilloscopes, frequency counters, multi-meters, deviation meters, and specialized test equipment for operational checks.
  • Repairs or replaces components based on test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
  • Performs calibration, repair, and replacement of system components based on test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Maintains an in-depth working knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2 and NAVINST 3710.1 series and all applicable technical publications for their applicable T/M/S specific aircraft.
  • Prioritizes workloads, maintains schedules, and performs other maintenance standards on assigned projects.
  • Utilizes the OOMA NALCOMIS system for documenting aircraft maintenance actions.
  • Obtains all certifications required to perform the job requirements.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Maintains assigned specific T/M/S aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, weapons release and control checks, acts as an aircraft conventional weapons load team member and team leader, and maintains aircraft communications, navigation systems, and instruments.
