The Aircraft Teardown Technician performs aircraft disassembly and safely removes aircraft parts, components, and subcomponents, including panels, electrical wires, valves, actuators, accumulators, fire bottles, pneumatic ducts, hydraulic lines, control cables, flight control surfaces, seats, galleys, and lavatories. Work is performed in accordance with AFRA (Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association) guidelines and manufacturer manuals, as necessary. Proper removal, transportation, and storage of parts are important to customer satisfaction and revenue protection. The technician completes work to AerSale AFRA quality standards and customer requirements, within estimated or budgeted hours, and keeps aircraft maintenance documentation accurate and properly annotated. Parts must remain secure on AerSale property, and scrap parts must be destroyed or altered so they cannot re-enter the supply chain without proper certification. The role also involves safe operation of ground support equipment, adherence to site safety procedures, correct parts tagging and handling of electrostatic-sensitive devices, and effective communication with management, other departments, and coworkers. The technician may be required to work any shift. The work takes place in hangar and ramp environments with uncontrolled climate conditions. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined or elevated areas, exposure to continual loud noises, and bending, stooping, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and climbing steps, ladders, or service stands.
