About The Position

To assemble and perform mechanical adjustments and repairs on precision composite aircraft seats.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret blueprints
• Ability to apply shop math
• Ability to use some measuring devices
• High school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification
• Over one year and up to three years bench assembly and/or mechanical experience

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of diversified bench assembly operations and mechanical adjustments and repairs on precision aircraft seats requiring close tolerance fitting.
• Installs seat control mechanisms, arm and head rests, seat belts, life vests, drawers, etc.
• Installs precisions swivel, recline and slide apparatus. Makes adjustments as necessary for proper operation.
• Disassembles, reassembles, and assures proper operation after complete paint and upholstery operations.
• Troubleshoots and performs mechanical adjustments and repairs on aircraft seats once they have been installed in the aircraft.
• Requires using power tools such as sanders, rivet guns, air drills, air screwdrivers and hand tools such as wrenches, files, hammers, mallets, and awls.
• Responsible for the quality of own work.
• Performs other related duties as required
