About The Position

This role is responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed units, adhering to the bill of materials and production documents. The assembler will read blueprints, handle materials and tools, and inspect parts using various equipment. This position requires performing a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision, ensuring all company-supplied tools are properly stored daily, and assisting quality control in testing efforts. The role also involves conducting rope winding as necessary and maintaining acceptable performance standards in assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping. All other assigned duties as instructed by supervision are also part of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • 6 months’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lay down; and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed units adhering to the bill of materials and production documents.
  • Responsible for reading blue prints, handling materials and tools such as: drill, taps, torque wrench, etc.
  • Inspects parts by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, or other inspection equipment.
  • Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible to see that all company supplied tools used are placed into proper storage cabinets daily.
  • Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required.
  • Conduct rope winding as necessary.
  • Assist and maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Performs all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.
