About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking to provide students and recent graduates of Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified academic courses and Military Occupation Codes with the opportunity to join our 787 production teams working as an Aircraft Painter in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift! Your BPET Endorsement Form will outline the specific roles for which your course or Military Occupation Code qualifies you for a direct offer of employment. Requirements

Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) academic course or Military Occupation Code that is certified for the BPET Assembly Structures Mechanic role.
Applicants must have a valid BPET Endorsement Form.
Must have the ability to work variable shifts (first, second, or third) based on business needs.
Must be able to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
Experience in paint preparation and painting.
Must have the ability to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment and masks (OSHA STD state)
Must have the ability to complete Fall protection training
Experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting
To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Must successfully complete the new hire foundational training to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
Proficient use of a computer in a dynamic production environment.
Performs inspection of aircraft parts arriving at the component paint facility
Cleans aircraft assemblies
Masking of aircraft assemblies
Sanding of aircraft assemblies
Priming and painting aircraft assemblies
Have the ability of viewing and understand computer- based work instructions and drawings
Maintaining all certifications that are required for the Component Paint shop
This position requires an individual to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment. Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting). Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking.
