Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking to provide students and recent graduates of Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified academic courses and Military Occupation Codes with the opportunity to join our 787 production teams working as an Aircraft Painter in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift! Your BPET Endorsement Form will outline the specific roles for which your course or Military Occupation Code qualifies you for a direct offer of employment. Attention to detail and procedure compliance is critical to identify all necessary hand tools, parts, and equipment required to ensure defect-free work. Requirements

  • Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) academic course or Military Occupation Code that is certified for the BPET Assembly Structures Mechanic role.
  • Applicants must have a valid BPET Endorsement Form.
  • Must have the ability to work variable shifts (first, second, or third) based on business needs.
  • Must be able to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
  • Experience in paint preparation and painting.
  • Must have the ability to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment and masks (OSHA STD state)
  • Must have the ability to complete Fall protection training
  • Experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting
  • To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Must successfully complete the new hire foundational training to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
  • Proficient use of a computer in a dynamic production environment.
  • Performs inspection of aircraft parts arriving at the component paint facility
  • Cleans aircraft assemblies
  • Masking of aircraft assemblies
  • Sanding of aircraft assemblies
  • Priming and painting aircraft assemblies
  • Have the ability of viewing and understand computer- based work instructions and drawings
  • Maintaining all certifications that are required for the Component Paint shop
  • This position requires an individual to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment. Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting). Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking.
