About The Position

VTG is seeking an Aircraft Painter in Patuxent River, MD in support of the Presidential Helicopters Support Program. This role involves performing surface preparation, treatment, and painting of various aircraft components and surfaces using different application methods and materials. The painter will also be responsible for masking areas not intended for painting and must be familiar with vinyl graphic application.

Requirements

• High School Education or equivalent.
• Specialty Training courses applicable to the functional area, including Corrosion Control.
• Minimum of three (3) years actual and recent experience in the preparation and painting of aircraft, support equipment, and allied component surfaces.
• Knowledgeable of military publications, microfilm, and diagrams.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, Military and/or company EPA or OSHA forms required by work requirements.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance and YW access.
• Must be a U. S. citizen.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
• Experience must be within the last five years.
• Individuals released from Military Service with other than “Honorable Discharges” do not meet minimum qualifications.
• The Government will review Contractor qualifications and certifications to verify compliance with the NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series, CNAFINST 4790.2 series and the terms and conditions of this contract.
• Rotary Wing Aircraft experience required.

Nice To Haves

• S-92, H-3 and H-60 experience preferred.
• H-3A/D and/or H-60 B/F/N series experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs surface preparation, treatment and painting of components, small aircraft surface areas, aircraft panels, support equipment, or other items as directed, with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices.
• Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted.
• Familiar with the application of vinyl graphics.
