This role, an Aircraft Painter, is located in Wichita, Kansas (Mid-Continent Airport Wichita) and is in the Aerospace / Business Aviation industry. The position involves adhering to general work requirements and contributing to the final aesthetic finishing of world-class business aircraft.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as aircraft painter.
  • Can be a mix of aircraft and automotive but must avoid only automotive paint experience.
  • Must have large parts to full body aircraft paint experience.
  • Avoid only small parts paint experience.
  • Must be flexible with shift.
  • No interior/cabinetry paint experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to General Work Requirements
  • Read engineering drawings to identify the tasks to be performed in preparation for the application of chemicals and paint to aircraft surface.
  • Contribute to the final aesthetic finishing of world-class business aircraft.
  • Assist with moving aircraft to appropriate bay.
  • Mask, unmask, and re-mask appropriate areas of aircraft surface to ensure complete protection of windows and other areas susceptible to damage.
  • Remove stripper, excess paint, and/or contaminants using water, solvents, air blower, and/or brushes.
  • Sand, grind, and buff polished areas of aircraft surface, apply putty to body dents, and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paint.
  • Apply Alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipment.
  • Perform touch-up work as required.
  • Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
  • Perform above tasks in support of production, flight test, and other outside areas as required.
  • Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification.
