About The Position

The Aircraft Painter is responsible for preparing, painting and finishing aircraft surfaces in accordance with manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements and company quality standards. This role ensures high-quality coatings that protect aircraft structures and maintain aesthetic standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
Previous experience in aircraft painting, automotive painting, or industrial coating
Knowledge of paint systems, surface prep techniques and spray equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Familiarity with safety regulations and hazardous material handling
Mechanical aptitude, trainable
Strong knowledge of basic hand tools
Highly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment
Professional and respectful, with a positive work attitude
Timely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essential
Motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking and stripping old coatings
Mix and apply primers, paints, and finishes using spray equipment and other tools
Interpret technical drawings, paint schemes, and manufacturer instructions
Ensure proper surface preparation and coating thickness in compliance with specifications
Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as required
Maintain paint equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition
Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials
Comply with aviation regulations and company quality standards (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA if applicable)
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to meet production schedules
Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
Perform additional duties as assigned
