About The Position

The Aircraft Painter is responsible for preparing, painting and finishing aircraft surfaces in accordance with manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements and company quality standards. This role ensures high-quality coatings that protect aircraft structures and maintain aesthetic standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
  • Previous experience in aircraft painting, automotive painting, or industrial coating
  • Knowledge of paint systems, surface prep techniques and spray equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and hazardous material handling
  • Mechanical aptitude, trainable
  • Strong knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Highly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Professional and respectful, with a positive work attitude
  • Timely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essential

Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking and stripping old coatings
  • Mix and apply primers, paints, and finishes using spray equipment and other tools
  • Interpret technical drawings, paint schemes, and manufacturer instructions
  • Ensure proper surface preparation and coating thickness in compliance with specifications
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as required
  • Maintain paint equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials
  • Comply with aviation regulations and company quality standards (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA if applicable)
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to meet production schedules
  • Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
