About The Position

The Aircraft Flight Line Maintenance is responsible to the Maintenance Manager / Supervisor / Lead for performing various tasks on a periodic and/or daily basis. This includes launching and recovering aircraft, performing daily and turnaround inspections, removing and replacing aircraft tires, servicing engine oil and hydraulic systems, and cleaning aircraft exteriors and interiors. The role requires reviewing and interpreting technical orders, quality assurance standards, maintenance instructions, military specifications, and company/manufacturer directives. The mechanic will perform special/scheduled inspections, adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, and comply with Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety, and other Navy/Air Force and Company Program requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years aircraft experience or military service
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and capable of passing all government licensing requirements
  • Be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Launch and recovery of aircraft performing daily and turn around inspections
  • Removing and Replacing aircraft tires
  • Performing servicing of engine oil and hydraulic systems
  • Cleaning exterior or interior of aircraft, using portable platform ladders, brushes, rags, water hose, and vacuum
  • Operating service vehicles
  • Review and interpret customer technical orders, quality assurance standard practices, maintenance instructions, military specifications, quality procedures local (QPL) etc., and must be capable of interpreting and complying with all Department Of Defense (DOD), Company and Manufacturer directives/policies as may be required and directed by management.
  • Perform aircraft special/scheduled inspections, e.g., washes, 150 hour inspections, etc.
  • Self-directed adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety, and other applicable Navy/Air Force and Company Program requirements.
  • Possess superior qualities of personal integrity, maturity, judgment and aptitude that facilitates the accomplishment of assigned work functions and cultivation of a quality work environment.
  • Read and write the English language.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide training in your specialty/qualification / certifications to other employees.
  • Perform a variety of “critical maintenance tasks” applicable to your specialty / qualification / certifications.
  • Obtain and maintain Plane Capitan Certification, Tire and Wheel Qualified Hydraulic Contamination Qualified and all other qualifications/certifications in your classification / specialty and cross train into other areas within your realm of expertise.
  • Work any shift assignment under all weather conditions IAW the Hazardous Weather Plan.
  • Obtain and maintain Support Equipment (SE) Licenses for required equipment.
  • Work overtime and any assigned shift.
  • Comply with and participate in the FOD Program.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the Tool Control Program.
  • Perform off-site related duties to include detachments when directed.
  • Operate NALCOMIS terminal and document work performed on appropriate / applicable forms and records.
  • Proper use and operation of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Application of requisitioning and turn-in of components, and the proper packaging of components prior to turn-in.
  • Utilize the Computerized Self Evaluation Checklist (CSEC) as an auditing and reporting tool.
  • Conduct receiving, in-process and final inspections of equipment and work processes.
  • Perform other duties and Collateral Duty assignments as assigned and directed by management.
