About The Position

This role is responsible for the leadership and management of the Maintenance Division personnel for the F-5 Adversary Program. The manager will plan, coordinate, oversee, and direct all scheduled and unscheduled O-level, selected-I, and limited D-level maintenance of F-5 aircraft. A strong customer orientation and familiarity with maintenance publications are essential. The position requires keeping the Site Manager informed of all maintenance department actions and making recommendations for efficient operation. This includes scheduling meetings, liaising with customer representatives, and preparing recommendations for manpower, materials, facilities, and capital equipment. The manager must ensure the enforcement of safety rules, administrative policies, procedures, and government regulations, and analyze maintenance data for efficient management. Reporting and CDRL submission, detachment planning, and review of the Monthly Maintenance Plan are also key responsibilities. The role oversees Maintenance Admin and Logs and Records departments, provides data for logistics planning, and evaluates existing methods for compliance and cost-effectiveness. The position requires the ability to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty, and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team or detachment. Experience in writing with clarity and technical accuracy, practicing good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety are expected. The role also involves assisting in flight line foreign object prevention walks and understanding supply procedures, including ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment. Compliance with General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Shall possess a background in the field of aircraft maintenance and material support.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience (within the last 20 years) supervising and assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts of workers performing aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modifications.
  • The 10 years experience shall include a one-year minimum as a Maintenance or Production Control Supervisor.
  • The Maintenance Manager shall act as the Maintenance Master Chief Petty Officer (MMCPO) for fulfilling qualification and programmatic duties IAW COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2(series).
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with OPNAVINST 4790.2 series maintenance publications.
  • Will have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Will know of and understand supply procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the leadership and management of the personnel assigned to the Maintenance Division.
  • Plan, coordinate, oversee, and direct all scheduled and unscheduled O-level, selected-I, and limited D-level maintenance of F-5 aircraft.
  • Keep the Site Manager up to date on all maintenance department actions and make recommendations to ensure its efficient operation.
  • Schedule daily/weekly/monthly meetings as necessary with functional managers for the successful accomplishment of all maintenance actions.
  • Liaison as necessary and meet with customer representatives in support of aircraft maintenance.
  • Prepare and submit to the Site Manager recommendations for manpower, materials, facilities, and capital equipment.
  • Ensure the enforcement of all safety rules, administrative policies, procedures, and government regulations.
  • Analyze maintenance data to ensure the efficient management of the maintenance department.
  • Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly required reports and maintenance CDRLs are submitted.
  • Conduct detachment planning meetings and determine manning, logistics, and equipment requirements.
  • Review the Monthly Maintenance Plan for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee Maintenance Admin and Logs and Records departments.
  • Provide information/data to the Logistics Manager for logistics planning, estimating, and procurement of components necessary to maintain contractual RFT requirements.
  • Evaluate existing methods and/or systems and potential improvements for compliance with maintenance requirements and cost-effectiveness.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Assists in flight line foreign object prevention walks.
  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignments.
  • Comply with Hazardous Waste Program and Company and Facility Hazardous Material Programs.
  • Maintain shop/hanger/flightline area clean and participate in FOD Walk downs.
  • Will be familiar with and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed/required.
