Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Federal Aviation Administration Control Tower Operator certificate OR Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Licensed Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist.
  • Two (2) years previous ATC experience.
  • VFR Control Tower experience required.
  • Ability to control aircraft in accordance with FAA 7110.65.
  • Must obtain rating within time limitations stated in Army Regulation AR 95-2.
  • Relay METAR weather observations, logs data on appropriate form and transmits data as required.
  • Must be able to pass FAA Class IV Physical.
  • Ability to successfully communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level, as applicable to the position requirement.
  • Ability to successfully pass any employment background check and/or drug testing required on the contract.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years aviation work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an aeronautical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Current security clearance at the Secret Level.
  • Previous military experience.
  • Experience working on a federal installation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring safe separation of aircraft, coordinating air traffic control clearances, and controlling all flight line activities of all transient aviation.
  • Maintaining tower event logs, performing weather observer duties, and issuing all relevant notices and approvals for aviation transit activities.
  • Relay ATC clearances to inbound, outbound and over-flying aircraft.
  • Provide airfield advisory service to arriving and departing aircraft.
