About The Position

Do you have a keen eye for detail, strong observation skills, and enjoy working independently? We're looking for a dependable Traffic Controller to help maintain safe and efficient traffic flow at our sites throughout the Simcoe Region. This full-time position offers 35 hours per week and is based out of Duntroon, ON, with regular travel to various sites throughout the Simcoe Region. In this role, you'll be responsible for monitoring vehicle movement, identifying traffic violations, and helping ensure drivers follow site safety procedures. You'll spend much of your time stationed in a company pickup truck equipped with the tools needed to observe, document, and report traffic activity. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in security, traffic management, law enforcement, or related fields who enjoy working outdoors, working independently, and making a direct impact on workplace safety. Hourly wage: $23.75

Requirements

  • Valid G Class Driver’s License in good standing
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safe driving practices
  • Excellent observation, communication, and reporting skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A high level of attention to detail and situational awareness
  • The ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and sitting in a vehicle for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a security or law enforcement role is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all inbound and outbound traffic on-site and in surrounding areas
  • Use radar or other monitoring tools to detect speeding or traffic violations
  • Issue verbal or written warnings to drivers who do not follow site traffic rules
  • Observe and note any non-compliant drivers or vehicles
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the sales and management teams regarding truck movement and traffic concerns
  • Maintain daily traffic logs and incident reports
