About The Position

The Warehouse Agent handles air cargo, mail, express shipments, freight, and company materials. The role involves moving cargo within the warehouse and between terminals, trucks, and aircraft; loading and unloading shipments; and completing documentation associated with cargo handling. Agents may also clean work areas, ramps, and facilities, assist with facility security, and follow site security procedures. They are expected to remain alert to the activities of staff, contractors, and visitors and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to work in a high-noise-level environment.

Responsibilities

Move air cargo within the designated warehouse.
Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.
Build up cargo for outbound flights and break down cargo from import flights.
Load and unload cargo to and from semitrucks.
Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions, and documents when accepting or delivering cargo, as appropriate.
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations.
May operate basic cargo-handling equipment, including forklifts, aircraft pallets, and pallet jacks.
May transport cargo to and from aircraft using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and negotiate congested areas with attached carts.
Use proper ground-to-cockpit communication, including hand signals and voice commands, while performing aircraft push-out or towing functions.
Understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings.
May clean work areas, ramps, and facilities, with or without powered equipment.
May assist in monitoring facility security and comply with WFS site security procedures.
Remain aware of staff, contractors, and visitors and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan.
Complete forms and messages necessary to perform assigned functions.
