About The Position

The AI Tutor – Applied Math will help enhance Grok by providing high-quality data annotations, labels, and inputs focused on applied mathematics. The role draws on expertise in areas such as numerical analysis and scientific computing, ordinary and partial differential equations, probability and applied statistics, computational linear algebra, and mathematical physics or mathematical biology. The tutor evaluates model outputs, identifies modeling errors or numerical issues, and produces clear, rigorous solutions and explanations. Strong mathematical writing, precision, and logical consistency are essential. This work helps train Grok to distinguish flawed or inadequately justified approaches from mathematically sound, accurately modeled, and practically applicable solutions. The position is remote and may be performed from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or India. It may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs and candidate availability; full-time positions are preferred and require standard business hours in the employee’s local time zone. Positions are typically offered as six-month fixed-term employment contracts, with possible extensions or conversion to a permanent role based on business needs. Travel to a SpaceXSI site may be required. Visa sponsorship is not provided. US-based candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois at this time.
