About The Position

The AI Strategist owns business outcomes for FlowGen Labs’ most important enterprise deployments. Working closely with a Forward Deployed Engineer, this hands-on, forward-deployed role embeds with customer finance, operations, and technology teams to understand how work gets done across complex SAP environments. The strategist identifies workflows where autonomous agents can create value, defines success, aligns stakeholders, and leads engagements from discovery through production adoption and expansion. The role requires building trust with executives and frontline users, creating structure from ambiguity, translating operational complexity into an executable deployment plan, and remaining accountable until the system delivers measurable business impact. The AI Strategist also identifies opportunities to expand automation into adjacent workflows and contribute to FlowGen’s product, deployment methodology, and customer strategy.

Requirements

  • Exceptional problem-solving ability, including the ability to enter unfamiliar environments, ask incisive questions, identify constraints, and turn ambiguity into a concrete plan.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to distinguish interesting AI use cases from workflows that will create material operational value.
  • Ability to move between executive strategy and operational detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with credibility to challenge assumptions and align business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort working with messy enterprise data.
  • Practical fluency with AI systems and agentic workflows, including understanding where probabilistic systems create leverage, where deterministic controls are needed, and where human oversight remains essential.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer engagements.
  • Ability to work in person in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP, enterprise finance, supply chain, procurement, order management, or other operational workflows; this experience is valuable but not required.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, spreadsheets, or business intelligence tools is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Own customer engagements from initial discovery through deployment, adoption, measurement, and expansion.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of customer workflows, including process steps, decisions, exceptions, controls, data sources, failure modes, and manual workarounds.
  • Identify and prioritize workflows based on business value, technical feasibility, data readiness, operational risk, and organizational readiness.
  • Define measurable deployment outcomes, such as cycle-time reduction, touchless processing rate, error reduction, SLA attainment, working-capital improvement, and support-cost reduction.
  • Lead working sessions with executives, process owners, SAP teams, IT, security, compliance, and frontline users.
  • Identify opportunities to automate adjacent workflows or deliver greater enterprise-wide value.
  • Contribute to FlowGen’s product, deployment methodology, and customer strategy through customer and deployment work.
