About The Position

Ceva’s AI Division develops machine learning and generative AI architectures for edge devices and cloud inference, spanning Neural Network Processors (NPUs), Vision DSPs, and advanced AI algorithms. The division combines hardware IP design with embedded software and system-level solutions for applications including smartphones, tablets, automotive, and surveillance cameras. The AI Software Architect will shape Ceva’s NPU software stack and advanced neural network AI software toolchain. The role leads software architecture and defines performance-critical components to enable efficient execution of neural networks under power, memory, and latency constraints. The architect works closely with hardware and system architects, software and hardware engineers, product teams, and customers, influencing software and hardware decisions and promoting Ceva’s AI capabilities. The role also includes designing and implementing major parts of Ceva’s NPU embedded solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a software architect.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a software developer.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Proven track record in developing, maintaining, and improving software architecture for embedded processors in AI and vision domains.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across organizations.
  • Proven ability to advance initiatives effectively in ambiguous and dynamic environments.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing embedded software for SoCs, DSPs, or NPUs.
  • Experience developing Linux kernel components and drivers.
  • Familiarity with runtime frameworks such as ExecuTorch, MLIR IREE, or ONNX Runtime.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software architecture specification and supervise design for the software toolchain that handles advanced NPU operation.
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, VLSI, and Software teams to promote software leadership across markets and compute SoCs.
  • Translate requirements from state-of-the-art neural networks and AI applications into software architecture flows involving hardware, software, tools, and other components.
  • Evaluate architecture proposals and internal and external IP features, and provide leadership to align stakeholders on a common architecture and technology-development vision.
  • Represent Ceva in customer meetings with technical credibility and incorporate customer feedback appropriately.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams, increase development velocity, and anticipate and resolve future challenges.
  • Conduct experiments and drive development of supporting tools, including simulators, models, and profilers, as needed.
  • Work with engineering leadership and product-planning stakeholders to develop the technology roadmap.
  • Design and implement major parts of Ceva NPU embedded solutions and promote Ceva AI capabilities to customers.
