About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking an AI Product Engineer to own the development and growth of an internal AI agent tool designed to automate repetitive, detail-heavy work in the revenue cycle of their urgent care and primary care clinics. This role offers a unique opportunity for an engineer to be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from coding and feature development to user interaction and adoption measurement. The position operates within a regulated healthcare environment, requiring adherence to HIPAA compliance and secure AI model access through Azure. The engineer will work directly with the CEO on product reviews and will be responsible for driving the adoption of the AI tool among the revenue cycle team.

Requirements

• Software developer with approximately 1-3 years of experience.
• Focus on building products that work for people, rather than engineering for its own sake.
• Ability to build independently as the sole engineer on the product.
• Experience tinkering with large language models (LLMs) and agents (side projects count).
• Ability to sit with non-technical teammates, understand their workday, and explain technical work in plain English.
• Self-directed, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity ('Here's the goal. Figure it out.').
• Demonstrated care for the people using the software and the work itself.
• Proven ability to handle complex problems and learn new technologies quickly.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Build the AI product from a beta stage into a tool used daily by revenue cycle employees.
• Write code for interfaces, integrations, and agent workflows using a modern stack on Azure.
• Own the product by observing team workflows, identifying friction points, prioritizing features, shipping solutions, and measuring their impact.
• Work within a compliance perimeter, ensuring protected health information (PHI) stays on company machines and models are accessed through a compliant Azure setup.
• Learn regulated-AI engineering skills within a HIPAA-compliant architecture.
• Drive adoption of the AI tool by teaching users, observing usage, and fixing points of confusion.
• Conduct weekly product reviews with the CEO.
