About The Position

Build an AI product people actually use — and own the whole thing! This role is the opposite of shipping tickets into a codebase you'll never demo, for users you'll never meet. DEPLOY's client runs urgent care and primary care clinics across six states. They have built a working beta of an internal artificial intelligence (AI) agent tool that handles repetitive, detail-heavy billing and insurance work for their revenue cycle team. This role is for someone to own this product end-to-end: writing code, deciding what to build next, working with users, and improving the product weekly. This is described as 'forward deployed engineering,' embedding an engineer directly where the work happens and building the solution on the spot with the people who will use it. The customer is the company's own revenue cycle team.

Requirements

• Software developer with approximately 1–3 years of experience.
• Interest in building products that work for people, rather than just engineering for its own sake.
• Ability to build independently, as you will be the sole engineer on this product.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in tinkering with large language models (LLMs) and agents (side projects that have been shipped are valued).
• Ability to collaborate with non-technical teammates, understand their workday, and explain technical work clearly.
• Self-directed, curious, and comfortable with a 'figure it out' approach.
• A genuine care for the people using the software.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the healthcare industry is not required.
• Demonstrated ability to operate at a high level, similar to engineers with a decade of experience.
• A track record of tackling difficult problems and shipping projects beyond initial scope.

Responsibilities

• Build the AI product, turning the beta into a tool used daily by the revenue cycle team.
• Write code for interfaces, integrations, and agent workflows using a modern stack on Azure.
• Own the product by observing team workflows, identifying friction points, prioritizing features, shipping, and measuring impact.
• Work within a compliance perimeter, adhering to HIPAA regulations for protected health information (PHI) and using a compliant Azure setup with Microsoft Entra authentication.
• Drive adoption by teaching users, observing usage, and fixing issues.
• Conduct weekly product reviews with the CEO.
