About The Position

CXT Software is seeking an AI-Native VP of Software Engineering to lead its engineering and SaaS operations organization end to end and define how it builds and runs software in the AI era. CXT provides technology for courier, route delivery, and healthcare logistics companies whose daily physical operations depend on reliable software. The role owns people, architecture, quality, delivery, production reliability, and customer outcomes, with performance measured by quality, reliability, cycle time, predictability, and customer impact. The VP will lead and develop engineering leaders and teams, establish AI-assisted development practices, and verify adoption through observed work and measurable results. The position owns product architecture, legacy modernization, releases, production operations, and roadmap delivery in partnership with Product and Customer Success. The organization’s technology stack includes .NET, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, SQL, MAUI, and Azure PaaS. The role reports to the CTO. This is a fully remote independent contractor engagement, open to applicants in countries where CXT Software can lawfully engage them. The role requires regular overlap with North American business hours. It is not eligible for company-sponsored employee benefit programs.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12 or more years in software engineering, including 5 or more years in engineering leadership and 2 or more years managing managers.
  • Experience leading a multi-team engineering organization through managers across several products with separate codebases, including legacy modernization.
  • Experience leading engineering for a B2B SaaS product and owning its production operations through a team, including reliability, on-call, incidents, security operations, and cloud cost.
  • Current use of AI coding assistants and agents in production work, and experience leading their adoption across multiple teams with measured results.
  • Experience designing and running engineering experiments with baselines, success metrics, and clear decision criteria.
  • Hands-on experience running flow-based delivery (Kanban or similar) at scale, with CI/CD, automated testing, and release management.
  • Continues to read code and review architecture; experience with CXT Software’s technology stack is a plus.
  • Experience leading a remote, distributed engineering organization.
  • Professional English and regular overlap with North American business hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure managed services, infrastructure as code, SRE, SOC 2, or FinOps.
  • Experience integrating teams that join through acquisition or running engineering across multiple business units.
  • Experience building AI-enabled product features such as embedded agents, MCP connectors, or AI vision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, hire, and develop Directors, architects, and their teams, and set and maintain the hiring bar.

  • Run engineering experiments with baselines and clear decisions to scale, modify, or stop.
  • Own quality, releases, and production reliability, including uptime and SLAs, on-call, incidents, security operations, and cloud cost.
  • Own architecture across products, including legacy modernization and standards for AI-generated code.
  • Plan and deliver the roadmap with Product, raise trade-offs early, and work with Customer Success to drive customer escalations to root cause.

Benefits

  • Access to leading AI engineering tools and platforms, with a mandate to shape how they are used across the organization.
  • Fully remote work with a global hiring approach, where legally permissible.
  • Flexible work hours and asynchronous work focused on results and customer satisfaction.
