About The Position

CACI is offering a part-time AI/ML Engineering Co-op for students currently enrolled at Drexel University. Based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, the position provides hands-on experience applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to real-world challenges while working with software developers and technical experts. The co-op includes mentorship and collaboration with leaders across the organization.

The work will focus on researching and developing AI/ML models, including advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, text embedding models and methods, fine-tuning embedding models, building a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, and exploring synthetic data generation techniques. The role includes regular meetings with mentors.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program at Drexel University.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or C++.
• Familiarity with at least one unsupervised and one supervised machine learning technique.
• Proficiency in data science and data analysis.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience training and developing machine learning models.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and vector databases such as ChromaDB or Weaviate.
• Experience using agentic coding assistants.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or Keras.
• Experience with cloud infrastructures; AWS or C2S preferred.
• Experience working within an Agile framework for feature development.
• Experience with containerization; Docker preferred.
• Experience developing performant algorithms in various domains.
