About The Position

Alcon is seeking a talented and motivated Engineering Co-op to work onsite at its Johns Creek, Georgia location during Spring and Summer 2027. The co-op will gain industry experience, network with Alcon professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects intended to benefit patients and customers. Alcon also offers co-ops personal and professional development, high visibility, and coaching and mentoring opportunities. The co-op will work on process upgrades and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements for the DSMFLEX contact lens platform. Projects may focus on safety, quality, or performance improvements. The role may also support installation and qualification of new or retrofitted equipment in the DSMFLEX area.

Requirements

Be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester before the co-op and at least one additional semester after it.
Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or a related major.
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Demonstrate leadership skills through extracurricular activities or projects.
Be authorized to work permanently in the United States; students on an F-1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.
Be able to commit to a full-time, 40-hour-per-week co-op for the spring and summer.

Nice To Haves

Studies in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Management Information Systems (MIS).

Responsibilities

Identify, design, and implement improvements to machines and processes related to contact lens production.
Execute protocols and provide continuous-improvement support for production initiatives.
Prepare documentation related to procedures, training, work instructions, validations, ES, and DOE.
Contribute to program updates for senior-level stakeholders.
Participate in continuous improvements to communications metrics to achieve greater business impact.
Monitor impact through feedback channels to assess demonstrated results.
Assist with installation and qualification of new or retrofitted equipment in the DSMFLEX area.
