About The Position

Sanity is hiring an AI & Innovation Lead to join its Finance team and drive AI-first transformation across General and Administrative (G&A) functions. The role reports to the CFO and has a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Systems Engineering. The successful candidate will begin with Finance and expand into People and other G&A functions, identifying manual work and operational bottlenecks and turning them into practical AI-enabled systems. The position combines G&A domain expertise, workflow automation, data, and AI. The Lead will prototype agents, applications, and workflows using Sanity’s platform and AI tools, then partner with Systems Engineering and Data to develop successful prototypes into secure, production-ready systems. The role also establishes transformation portfolio governance, supports adoption across G&A, and measures business impact. The position is remote in North America, with San Francisco preferred.

Requirements

  • Deep G&A domain knowledge, ideally at least 8 years in Finance, Accounting, People Operations, or business operations at a software company.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI to G&A work, such as leading a functional AI program, automating a core process, or building agents for a team.
  • Comfort building prototypes with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar; a software engineering background is not required, but willingness to use a terminal is expected.
  • Understanding of APIs, data flows, and connections among G&A systems such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, contract tools, and a data warehouse.
  • Interest in AI as an operating model, including agents, tool use, structured context, prompts, evaluations, and automation.
  • Strong focus on controls, accuracy, auditability, and systems G&A teams can rely on.
  • Program management ability to run a cross-functional roadmap, align stakeholders, and deliver change while teams continue running the business.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and turn loosely defined business problems into shipped solutions.
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining G&A processes to engineers and technical tradeoffs to G&A teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Finance or accounting background.
  • Hands-on experience with G&A systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, an HRIS, and a data warehouse such as BigQuery.
  • Experience across more than one G&A function.
  • Experience building or running a G&A transformation, systems implementation, or migration.
  • Background in program management, change management, or enablement for internal tools.
  • Experience at a high-growth or multi-entity company, ideally operating across the US and Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute the AI-first transformation roadmap for G&A by identifying where teams lose time and deciding what to build, buy, or automate.
  • Run intake, prioritization, and stage gates for the G&A transformation portfolio, establishing owners, decision rights, and a regular executive review cadence.
  • Prototype agents, applications, and automations using Sanity’s platform and AI tools, and partner with Systems Engineering to productionize successful solutions.
  • Translate G&A processes into clear engineering specifications and prototypes, including data flows, systems of record, controls, edge cases, and completion criteria.
  • Establish controls, audit trails, access management, data quality, and human-in-the-loop review to make systems trustworthy for G&A teams and auditors.
  • Partner with Data and IT on G&A systems and data infrastructure, connecting G&A systems with the data warehouse.
  • Drive adoption across G&A by training teams, documenting approved workflows, enabling functions to use AI in their work, and retiring legacy manual processes.
  • Measure impact using hours saved, cycle times, error and exception rates, adoption, AI evaluations, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Help shape the practices and culture of the Systems Engineering team, emphasizing practical impact.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health plans and perks.
  • Competitive stock options program.
  • Flexible, trust-based work environment that encourages long-term professional and personal growth.
  • Work-life balance that accommodates individual and family needs.
  • Inspiring and supportive team and a globally diverse group of colleagues and customers.
