About The Position

The Fundworks is rapidly integrating AI into everything we do. We're seeking a hands-on technologist with strong coding skills and deep knowledge of AI implementation for process improvement — someone who loves experimenting with AI tools, writing code to build practical solutions, and turning ideas into real productivity gains. This is not a research or academic role — it's a builder position. You'll spend most of your time coding lightweight internal tools, implementing AI-driven automations and workflows, and driving measurable process improvements across the company — including enhancing our risk models and risk-based decision-making. You'll work directly with leadership, enjoy high ownership, and help shape our AI strategy from the ground up.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in a technical, IT, systems, automation, or software development role
  • Strong coding experience combined with hands-on implementation of AI solutions for process improvement
  • Deep practical knowledge of AI tools, including LLMs, prompt engineering, building automations, and integrating AI into workflows
  • Understanding of risk models and experience (or strong interest) in leveraging AI to enhance risk assessments, underwriting, and risk-based pricing
  • A creative, proactive "builder" mindset — you enjoy experimenting, writing code, and turning business needs into working AI-powered solutions
  • Ability to translate business problems into effective, coded AI implementations that deliver measurable improvements
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud environments (or strong willingness to learn quickly)
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, "figure-it-out" environment

Nice To Haves

  • Personal side projects or internal tools built with AI (especially those involving custom coding, process automation, or risk/analytics applications)
  • Exposure to RAG, APIs, workflow automation platforms, predictive modeling, or similar concepts
  • Genuine passion for staying ahead of AI trends and applying them practically for business impact, particularly in risk and underwriting domains

Responsibilities

  • Drive internal AI initiatives by testing tools, exploring use cases, and rapidly prototyping and coding solutions
  • Build lightweight AI-powered tools, copilots, automations, and knowledge assistants using LLMs and custom code
  • Identify creative AI applications across departments (operations, sales, HR, finance, underwriting, and more) with a focus on process improvement
  • Spot inefficiencies and design/implement AI-enhanced workflows to significantly boost team productivity
  • Collaborate with departments to embed AI deeply into daily processes through custom coding and integrations
  • Leverage AI to continuously improve risk assessments, underwriting processes, and risk-based pricing by refining risk models and delivering more accurate, data-driven insights
  • Develop and maintain internal resources such as knowledge bases, prompt libraries, reusable frameworks, and automated solutions
  • Document best practices and help scale AI adoption company-wide
  • Provide day-to-day support for our Azure cloud environment, access management, and basic security needs
  • Handle general technical requests and system maintenance
  • Balance innovation with clean, organized, and secure operations

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401k
  • Paid vacation, sick and holidays
  • Remote work/ telework
