About The Position

Human Agency is seeking an AI Implementation Specialist with a background in construction technology (Contech) to join their team. This role involves traveling to jobsites nationwide to understand construction workflows, identify technology needs, and implement AI tools. The specialist will capture expert knowledge from field teams, evaluate emerging construction technologies, and help clients adopt AI-assisted workflows. The goal is to make large design-build companies more effective by leveraging AI and technology to amplify human potential in the construction industry. This position is crucial for shaping Human Agency's product roadmap and investment strategies by bridging the gap between on-the-ground jobsite realities and technological innovation.

Requirements

  • Construction industry experience (3+ years) with time spent on or around jobsites.
  • Knowledge of construction workflows (e.g., three-week lookahead, PE's actual day).
  • Deep fluency with the contech landscape, including players, platforms, funding rounds, and gaps.
  • AI literacy beyond basic usage, including experience building workflows and automating processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Comfort with heavy travel (60–80%) to jobsites across the country.
  • Natural credibility with construction professionals.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with construction technology platforms (Procore, PMWeb, OpenSpace, Bluebeam, BIM tools, or similar) as a power user, implementer, or builder.
  • Background in construction technology or AEC innovation (startup, GC's operations/innovation team, or technology consultancy).
  • Experience in technology evaluation, venture analysis, or strategic advisory roles.
  • Familiarity with how AI products are built and how field insights translate into product decisions.
  • Comfort operating in a consulting structure embedded within a client's organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured job shadows of Project Engineers, Project Managers, and superintendents across various project types to map workflows and identify friction points.
  • Extract and codify expert knowledge from experienced construction professionals.
  • Synthesize field observations into actionable briefs for Human Agency’s venture studio and product teams.
  • Build and maintain a living knowledge base of construction workflows, pain points, and technology gaps.
  • Identify systemic patterns across jobsites that indicate opportunities for technology intervention or process improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive, current knowledge of the construction technology landscape, including platforms, startups, and emerging capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies against real jobsite needs.
  • Develop technology fit assessments to determine where tools can create value.
  • Brief Human Agency and client leadership on contech trends and investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to Human Agency’s venture studio thesis on the future of the AEC industry.
  • Help jobsite teams understand and adopt AI-assisted workflows built by Human Agency.
  • Run hands-on coaching sessions to translate AI capabilities into construction language.
  • Identify high-leverage AI use cases for specific roles and project types.
  • Serve as a credible, trusted voice on AI and technology for field teams.
  • Surface adoption barriers, user friction, and workflow mismatches to the product team.
