About The Position

The AI Engineer - Finance is an embedded AI partner within Lineage’s Finance organization, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and working directly with Finance teams. The role identifies high-value AI use cases, develops initial solutions collaboratively, and teaches Finance teams to build, operate, and improve their own solutions. Success is measured by team adoption and self-sufficiency, as well as the impact of solutions on productivity, accuracy, efficiency, and process controls. The position has a dotted-line relationship to a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer in Lineage’s enterprise AI Center of Excellence (CoE), and follows the CoE’s platforms, standards, and governance. This remote role partners with Finance and Accounting stakeholders across areas such as controllership, financial reporting, FP&A, tax, audit, and treasury. It develops an understanding of finance and accounting workflows, Lineage’s supply chain business, and opportunities to apply AI. The engineer helps quantify and prioritize use cases, builds and delivers solutions where broader technical skills are needed, and supports adoption through coaching, workshops, office hours, guides, templates, and other enablement activities. The role applies CoE standards for architecture, development, security, data governance, model evaluation, and responsible AI. It designs solutions with internal controls, auditability, and SOX compliance in mind, and works with platform, solutions architecture, and data and integration teams to support enterprise integrations. The position also documents architectures, runbooks, and lessons learned to enable reuse and broader developer enablement.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to quantify use-case value, prioritize the engagement pipeline, and measure post-deployment impact.
  • Identify quick wins and short-term solutions that may provide value while longer-term solutions are developed.
  • Help teams leverage AI functionality in existing systems and supplement it with prompts, skills, or agents as needed.
  • Scope, architect, and deliver end-to-end AI solutions, including data ingestion, prompt engineering, skill and agent development, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Use the CoE’s core AI platform and work with Platform Engineers to extend tooling and identify platform gaps.
  • Apply CoE standards for architecture, development, security, data governance, model evaluation, and responsible AI; coordinate with the dotted-line Senior Forward Deployed Engineer on design and code reviews, technical guidance, and enterprise AI priorities.
  • Deliver flagship Finance use cases, such as month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entry support, variance analysis, and reporting, that establish repeatable delivery patterns.
  • Design solutions that support internal controls, auditability, and SOX compliance, including appropriate human review, documentation, and data access controls.
