About The Position

Apptegy is hiring an AI Automation Engineer to build durable, fast-moving solutions that improve operational efficiency and connect people, processes, and tools across finance and operations. The role is a hands-on builder and cross-functional partner, working with leaders and process owners to design and implement AI-powered workflows. It uses tools such as Claude and Claude Code, N8N, Glean, and APIs to NetSuite, Salesforce, and Snowflake to automate, integrate, and scale existing ways of working. This is a solutions-engineering role at the intersection of technology and business operations, requiring comfort with both API integration and understanding how business processes work. The engineer will collaborate with AI Champions and builders across the business to align efforts, support adoption, and share best practices company-wide.

Requirements

  • Working proficiency in at least one scripting language.
  • Experience integrating systems through APIs, webhooks, and data flows.
  • Hands-on production experience with modern AI tools such as Claude/Claude Code, Cursor, agent frameworks, MCP, or N8N, and informed opinions on when each is not appropriate.
  • Substantial experience with at least one enterprise business system and its data model.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical solutions.
  • Creative, curious builder’s mindset and eagerness to experiment with new technologies to drive efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, EdTech, or fintech.
  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or SQL for customization and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with a finance stack or GTM stack, such as ERP, CRM, CPQ, or support platforms.
  • Understanding of AI-powered automation systems and data enrichment tools.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with process owners to map current workflows, including exceptions, workarounds, and undocumented user-dependent steps.
  • Define success metrics and expected outcomes before building, then measure results after deployment, such as hours saved, cycle time, error rate, or cost avoided.
  • Build and automate workflows using AI agents and skills, API integrations, SQL, Python, workflow orchestration, and scripting, taking solutions from prototype to production.
  • Move data between business systems using APIs, webhooks, and pipelines, and implement reconciliations to verify that connected systems agree.
  • Publish shared primitives, patterns, and templates to help builders across functions develop automation capabilities.
  • Maintain the automation inventory and retire automations that no longer provide value.
  • Work with AI Champions and builders across the business to align efforts, support adoption, and share best practices.
