About The Position

RocketRide.ai is an San Francisco-based AI startup developing open-source agentic workflows. Its platform connects automation, AI, and open collaboration to help developers build useful, flexible systems. The AI Developer will design and build features for the AI runtime and compute-optimized SaaS platform, taking work from prototypes through production services. The role involves rapidly delivering reliable software using agentic AI code-generation tools, recruiting and leading a small development team, contributing to open-source projects, and helping grow the developer community. The developer will keep current with generative AI capabilities and translate them into product features and customer use cases, while collaborating with engineering, finance, DevRel, and the founders. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical and financial outcomes, work directly with founders and users, and deploy ideas quickly. The position is part of a hybrid team and requires working from the San Francisco office regularly at least three days per week.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience developing distributed backend systems and services at scale.
• Deep familiarity with agent frameworks, LLMs, AI tooling, vector and graph databases, and ETL pipelines supporting AI applications and business workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to use agentic AI tooling to achieve substantial productivity improvements in development and operations.
• Strong, demonstrable coding skills in Python and C++, with clean abstractions and an emphasis on maintainable, testable systems.
• Experience building and leading collaborative, high-energy teams that deliver frequently and learn quickly.
• Prior experience contributing to open-source projects and engaging with developer communities.
• A strong interest in remaining technical and solving problems with code and data.
• Ability to work regularly from the San Francisco office at least three days per week.

Nice To Haves

• Clear communication skills, including comfort moving between deep technical detail and executive-level or customer-facing conversations.
• Strong understanding of challenges and approaches for working with unstructured data such as text, code, logs, and documents.
• Hands-on experience with Langflow, n8n, or other low-code AI orchestration tools.
• Practical knowledge of operating systems and common networking protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize features for the AI runtime and compute-optimized SaaS platform, from prototype experiments to hardened production services.
• Deliver rapidly and with high quality using agentic AI code-generation tools while maintaining reliability.
• Recruit, lead, and mentor a small, high-performing development team that ships frequently, measures impact, and iterates quickly.
• Contribute to open-source projects and help grow the developer community through Discord, live events, demos, and technical content.
• Track developments in generative AI, including LLMs, agents, tools, retrieval, and evaluation, and turn new capabilities into product features and customer use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, DevRel, and founders to ensure systems support how developers adopt and scale agentic AI in production.
