About The Position

1mind is seeking an AI Conversation Designer to develop prompts and context-management strategies for large language model tasks on its platform, with a focus on specialized subagents. The role involves reviewing conversations with Superhumans and feedback, then editing and authoring complex, dynamic prompts in the dialogue platform and creating agentic workflows for before, during, and after AI-agent conversations. The successful candidate will document their work, teach colleagues, grow into a subject-matter expert, and proactively lead initiatives as the company evolves. The role focuses on designing and coordinating specialized subagents in live customer conversations, including systems for routing, delegation, and communication between agents. It also involves training Superhumans using prompting, RAG knowledge-base creation, and fine-tuning; prototyping complex prompt and data workflows; and developing approaches for prompting with multiple media types. This is a fully remote opportunity, preferably worked from the Eastern or Central time zones.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in AI agents, LLMs, conversation design, or related fields.
  • Strong command of language and the ability to recognize when a response sounds scripted, off-tone, or incorrect.
  • A record of diagnosing problems from transcripts and explaining how a fix was verified.
  • Strong hands-on LLM prompting experience, particularly with OpenAI and Anthropic models, including API use and mastery of prompt parameters and components.
  • Comfort with rapid prototyping and iteration, reading system prompts, working in a console, calling APIs, incorporating APIs into prototypes, and writing light code such as Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Copywriting skills.
  • Data science skills.
  • Software engineering skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design architectures for specialized subagents operating within live customer conversations, covering areas such as technical Q&A, product and pricing expertise, discovery, objection handling, demo selection, account research, compliance, and action execution.
  • Build routing and delegation systems to determine whether to answer directly, invoke a subagent, run specialists in parallel, ask a clarifying question, use a tool, escalate to a human, or decline an unsafe action.
  • Define contracts between the primary conversational agent and subagents, including inputs, context boundaries, structured outputs, confidence, evidence, latency budgets, cancellation behavior, and failure handling.
  • Become an expert in the dialogue platform, answer questions, and train others on prompting inside and outside the platform.
  • Train Superhumans using prompting, RAG knowledge-base creation, and fine-tuning.
  • Create small-scale prototypes and use AI-assisted coding to test complex prompting and data workflows.
  • Develop multimodal prompting strategies and workflows, including images and video, with a focus on LLMs and text embedding models.
  • Review Superhuman conversations and feedback, improve and author prompts, and create agentic workflows.
  • Document work and teach others within the company.

Benefits

  • Stock options.
  • Company-paid benefits.
  • A full range of benefits and perks.
  • Remote-first, fast-moving culture with ownership, autonomy, and impact from day one.
  • Interesting and meaningful work in a supportive and inclusive environment.
