About The Position

NTT DATA is seeking a hands-on AI & Automation Consultant to support digital transformation and productivity initiatives for a large enterprise in the energy sector. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to identify practical AI and automation opportunities and turn them into working solutions, prototypes, and business use cases. This is a delivery-oriented role focused on practical solutions rather than AI research, with rapid experimentation and iteration based on stakeholder feedback. The position is 100% onsite in Houston, Texas, and is a six-month contract with potential for extension. The consultant will use Microsoft Copilot Studio, Codex, and relevant Power Platform capabilities to build agents, copilots, prototypes, and AI-enabled business solutions. The role also involves integrating solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data sources, connectors, and workflows, and supporting promising prototypes as they progress toward reliable production-ready solutions. A personal laptop is required; company security software and device-management tools will be installed on it during onboarding and for the engagement.

Requirements

1–3 years of relevant professional experience in AI, automation, low-code development, application development, or related technology solutions.
Hands-on professional experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, including building or configuring agents, copilots, or AI-enabled business solutions.
Hands-on experience with Codex for application development, rapid prototyping, automation, or AI-assisted solution development.
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders, understand operational needs, identify practical use cases, and translate requirements into working technology solutions.
Experience building prototypes, proofs of concept, or rapid solutions in response to business requirements.
Practical understanding of applying AI and automation to business processes, productivity initiatives, and operational use cases.
Experience integrating solutions with APIs, enterprise systems, applications, connectors, or data sources.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Must provide a personal laptop and be comfortable with company security software and device-management tools being installed for the engagement.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
Experience with generative AI, AI agents, or other AI-assisted application development tools.
Experience taking an AI or automation solution from prototype or proof of concept through production deployment or broader adoption.
Experience with custom connectors, APIs, or enterprise systems integration.
Experience with data analysis, reporting, dashboards, or analytics-enabled business solutions.
Experience delivering technology solutions in energy, utilities, renewable energy, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries.
Microsoft certifications in Copilot, Power Platform, Azure, AI, or related technologies.

Responsibilities

Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, productivity needs, and opportunities for AI-enabled process improvement.
Identify and prioritize practical AI and automation use cases, translating business requirements into solution concepts and working prototypes.
Design and build agents, copilots, and AI-enabled business solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio.
Use Codex for application development, rapid prototyping, automation, troubleshooting, and iterative solution delivery.
Build proofs of concept and minimum viable solutions, demonstrate them to business users, gather feedback, and refine them through short delivery cycles.
Use Microsoft Power Platform capabilities, such as Power Apps and Power Automate, when appropriate for workflow automation and business solutions.
Integrate AI and automation solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, data sources, connectors, and existing workflows.
Collaborate with technical teams and business owners to validate requirements, test solutions, resolve issues, and support user adoption.
Support successful prototypes as they move toward production-ready solutions, including testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve solution quality, speed, and developer productivity.
