About The Position

Co-op operates differently as a cooperative, focusing on serving Western Canadians, returning profits to communities, and investing in sustainable growth. This role is crucial in providing a range of products and services to support member-owners, helping to build, fuel, feed, and grow Western Canadian communities. The Agro/Energy Sales Representative will operate in a diverse and competitive retail environment, responsible for driving sales and profitability. This position involves collaborating with others to grow business and identify new opportunities, all while aligning with Westview Co-op’s Core Values and Brand.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Previous (5-10 years) progressive and successful sales experience.
  • Commitment to ongoing development in the industry and relevant designations/knowledge (agronomy, chemical, seed, crop production, fuel & lubricants).
  • CCA, Pag or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of fuel and lubricants is required.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Co-op Values (Integrity, Excellence, Responsibility, Community).
  • World Class Guest service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Quality communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Background Check.
  • A Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract are required for travel throughout our trading area.
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit.

  • Collaborating closely with team members to achieve sales goals and ensure Guests receive expert advice across various commodity lines.
  • Maintaining strong product knowledge and an understanding of financial results.
  • Identifying new opportunities to drive sales and grow market share.
  • Travelling throughout Westview Co-op’s trading area.
  • Completing other duties and special projects as assigned.
