About The Position

The Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets is seeking an individual to join a team focused on consumer protection across complex programs influenced by national and state policy. This role involves implementing the Agency's regulatory responsibilities for distributors of commercial feed, pet food, dosage form animal health products, fertilizer, lime, beneficial substances, seed, and pesticide products sold in Vermont. The position requires both independent work and collaboration within the team, contributing to communication and regulatory efforts that support these programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more of experience in agricultural production or livestock farming, greenhouse operation, veterinary office, environmental, or a related field.
• OR Five (5) years or more experience in farm or agricultural production or livestock farming, greenhouse operation, veterinary office, environmental or a related field that includes database management.
• OR Three (3) years as a Feed, Seed, Fertilizer Regulatory Specialist II or an Agricultural Resource Management Specialist II.

Responsibilities

• Regulate distributors of commercial feed, pet food, and dosage form animal health products, fertilizer, lime, beneficial substances, seed and pesticide products sold in Vermont.
• Contribute to communication and regulatory efforts that support these programs.
• Perform occasional marketplace or field inspections.
• Interact with the regulated community, division staff, other Agency divisions, and other state control officials.
• Manage conflicting opinions respectfully and appropriately.
